How much does it cost to hire the space?

Daily rate: £100

Weekly rate: £350

Monthly rate: £1000

What is the capacity of the space?

This depends on the type of event - below is a rough guide.

Live band performance (3-4 band members inc drums) - 30 standing

Small theatre show/spoken word event - 30 seated (guide only depending on set-build)

Sit-down meal/party with large tables in back room and benches in front for drinks - 20 seated with 'dining' furniture

Workshop - 30 people in total over both 'front' and 'back' spaces - again, depending on furniture set-up needed

Children's Party (suggested numbers for kids aged 6 and under with tables in front room for food etc and no tables or furniture in the back (Disco or free-play) - 10/12 adults and 8-10 kids max

Empty Space - capacity 35

Are you licensed to serve alcohol?

Yes - and alcohol can be purchased over the road at Garden City Brewery and brought in for consumption

Do you have a kitchen area?

We have a basic large sink and drying area at the back of the space. We do have a double fridge/freezer but use of this would need to be discussed and agreed in terms of what space is needed for what items as this is often in use by Garden City Brewery. We do have a large hot-water urn that can be used at no extra charge and a limited number of mugs, glasses and plates but it is recommended that for parties the hirer brings in everything they will need. There is no milk/sugar etc.

I've seen images of events with large black curtains hanging up. Can I have these for my event?

These can be hung for an event at a surcharge of £30. If these have been left up from a previous event and the hirer would like to keep them up there would be no charge.

Do you have a PA?

We do have a small PA which can be hired for a fee of £100. A £50 deposit is required in advance. Please contact us for details of the PA which may not be suitable for larger bands.

We have a bluetooth floor speaker which can also be hired for £50 for the duration of the event.

Do you have a screen and projector?

Yes, we have a 7ft wide pull-down screen and projector, this can be hired for a fee of £100. A £50 deposit is required in advance.

Are you wheelchair friendly?

Yes we have wheelchair access via a ramp at the front.

Is there a toilet on site?

Yes, but we recommend for large events and parties because of set-up space and capacity that guests are advised to use the toilets across the footpath at Garden City Brewery

Can I pop in and have a look at the venue?

You must make an appointment in advance by emailing thestoreroomletchworth'@gmail.com - then we'll be very happy to show you around :)

Do you allow dogs into the venue?

Dogs are allowed to some suitable events but this must be discussed and agreed with the venue beforehand and will make up part of the Hire Agreement.

What are your opening times?

This is totally event-specific but our licensable activity hours are 11am-12pm - the latter can be extended a limited number of times per year for a £30 admin fee chargable to the hirer

Do you allow under 18s?

Again, totally event-specific - kids are naturally allowed in to kids events and as a rule under 15s must be accompanied by an adult to evening events

Do you have WIFI?

Yes we do but if your event depends on this we recommend you come and test your set-up in the space to avoid any disappointment

Do you have parking?

The Wynd Public Car Park is situated at the back of the premises. Is it free after 6pm and all day Sunday. There is no business parking space.
